  1. Running sucks.

    1. Swimming > Running. Less joint pain, no icky sweat.

  2. You must walk before you can run.

    1. You must roll before you can slither,
then slither before you can crawl,
then crawl before you can walk,
then walk before you can run.
Then run before you can irritate everyone else talking about how great running is.

    2. Oddly, I've been running almost half my lifetime. I enjoy it, but I won't preach about it, lol.

  3. I know that feeling.

  4. She made it farther than I would've, damn. Maybe it's the running clothes.

  5. Clearly she wasn't listening to an energizing enough song. I hate running and even then the right song will get me pumped.

  6. All that money.
Money that could've been spent on booze or drugs or cookies.
And you use it to buy EXERCISING APPAREL of all things.

This is low, Hanna. Real low.

  7. Should have been listening to a couch to 5k app on her phone instead! I used Zombies, Run! 5k and have been successfully not dying after step 1 for two years!

  8. hahahahah! Hanna looks cute doe

  9. Tip for first-time joggers doing long distance runs: I avoid gassing out like this by making sure to never exercise at all.

  10. What's she listening to? Is that Bowie?

    1. Ohh no not Bowie. Im very sure the album cover looks like Ellie Goulding's Halcyon Days.

  11. Any savvy folks out there recognize the album art? Easter always comes early with Octopus Pie : D

    1. Ellie Goulding, Halcyon Days

    2. Looks like Ellie Goulding's Halcyon Days cover.

    3. It's Ellie Goulding, Halcyon Days

  12. Hanna has never been more adorbs.

  13. HAHAHAHAhahahahaaaaaaiiiIIII…know da feeling…

  14. Hanna lookin' the biz!

  15. This accurately captures my experiences with running as well.

    1. OMG Meredith may I PLEASE PLEASE repost this link to my running diary? I am training for a marathon after being injured and basically a sedentary computer nerd for the last 7 years… and well. That accurately reflects my first month of running (and I'm still much this way after the first mile or so). So much relateability in this comic!

      1. haha sure!

  16. Oh right, I just remembered I hate running

  17. This storyline is eerily parallel, and in realtime, to my life.

  18. Brilliant. This is how it's like every time I start up running after slacking off during the cold months.

  19. Was waiting for this…

  20. That full body shot of Hanna just before she runs, though, is pretty dang cool.

  21. I AM DETECTING A NONZERO QUANTITY OF ASS HERE.

    REPEAT.

    NONZERO ASS VOLUME DETECTED

  22. Hope she kept the receipt for those shoes.

  23. THIS IS SO ME.

  24. Hydrate, Warm Up, Tunes, Threads, Ready to go and *ploop*

  25. So it would seem that smoke and baked goods do not a healthy cardiovascular system make.

  26. Ahhh, thanks for the schaudenfreude. XD I’m a fat girl who does a lot of cardio. This is one of my few joys, whenever I’m working out; seeing the whip thin girl who was peering down her nose at me earlier, poot out after a ridiculously short period of time.

  27. A sedentary heavy smoker's lifestyle, regardless of substance smoked, does not a distance runner make.

  28. Yup. Happened to me this summer, first time run in 10 years, did NOT go well. Hyperventilated after less than 5 minutes of it. Haven't run since… oops.

  29. This is an exact re-enactment of my experience with running.

  30. She just needs proper motivation! Hire three corgis to chase after you and bark. Works every time.

  31. These colors look sooooooo slick!

  32. Hannah girl, your ass does indeed look slammin! You know, the ass. That you have.

  33. I'm guessing Hanna at least got past the tree?

  34. same girl, same.

  35. It gets easier, every day it gets a little easier. But that's the hard part, you have to do it every day.
