  1. Hahahaha, love this page. So many levels of humor going on.

  2. I love how Eve and Jane just noped the hell out of there

    1. "We don't know her. Who is that girl? How rude."

    2. Those old ladies are still spry enough to put dents in vans. I'd nope out of there, too.

    3. I'm going to start 'noping' the hell out of awkward situations from now on.

  3. Don't try to get out of this by looking at your pager, youngin'.

  4. "Hey Mar, how was your… why are you covered in cane marks?"
    "spa day."
"… and are those *dentures* in your hair?"
    "SPA DAY."

  5. "Mae, go an' fetch me a switch"

  6. Someone's goin' DOWN.

  7. Oh my god, seriously, though.
In high school, one of my teachers was also my coach, and we were pretty friendly. One time I jokingly called him old in class (he was only thirty, maybe) but he got really embarrassed and I felt terrible. I've been super paranoid about this situation ever since.

    1. 30 and married well there it is more products of time. Wasted life me me

    2. I think being embarrassed about being called 'old' at 30 should be illegal.

  8. One last Facebook status update

  9. The smartphone is truly today's best defense mechanism.

  10. Wow, the coloring.

    1. Exactly!! WOW!!

  11. Soundtrack: Blood in the Gutter by Laurie Johnson

  12. Sometimes, you just gotta know when to bail.

  13. YES! Such a good punchline.

  14. Most of the senior citizens I've know wouldn't be angry about such comments… But they'd certainly tease the hell out of her. Especially if they're the athletic sort, like the 70- and 80-year olds I used to hike with. Or they might be approving: "Honey, you ain't old, but if you quit smoking and such, you'll get there eventually".

  15. All that cutting in front of old ladies for the spa van is finally coming back to bite Mar in the ass…

    1. Oh wow — that made me go back and check, and it's the same two ladies!

      1. Of course it would be the two same ladies. Karma's a bitch.

  16. The smartphone: society's ultimate defense mechanism.

  17. To be completely honest, I do not only love the Octopus Pie comic, to which I look forward to every time, but also the community. I've been around quite a lot in the interwebz and there are people who call themself fans and only devote their comments and actions to just being rude, annoying or even destructive. Here it just seems like everybody is really happy about the fact that Octopus Pie exists and all the fans are so into the characters! I almost enjoy reading the comments section as much as the comic itself and that really means something 😀

    Keep it up guys!

  18. Ahaha somehow this makes me like Marigold more! It's a shame she has to die now.

    (Also, yay wedding! Congratulations! :D)

    1. What, wedding?

      -Reads author's comments-

      *Gasp* Yaaaaaay!!! :DDD Go Meredith!

  19. Totally in the same boat, Marigold. On the cusp of 30-something and trying to transition into "grownup-hood" but still somehow maintain a little bit of the fun. 🙂

  20. Haha I love super-tiny Jane and Eve in the last panel

  21. You know nothing, Marigold Fuchs"

  22. Oh my god, seriously, though.
