I recently read a quote by Wally Wood that was something to the effect of, "never draw characters the same size anywhere on the page". It was a real Oh Shit moment for me, the perpetrator of many panel crimes. I still think the more contemporary moment-to-moment panels get a pass (like the last 2 on this page, for example). But the rest... very same! It deflates the drama somewhat, and just doesn't make for as nice a package overall.

It’s been a while since I heard somebody refer to Wallace Wood. I remember him from Mad’s Golden Age and Marvel in the late 60s. And I’m not even a Nerd. (Or maybe I am.)
