Guys guys! I’m going to be at SPX in Bethesda, MD this coming weekend! Will you?
If you’re there, come get a cool book or a sketch or a handshake from me!
THAT DOG IS A MINOR MIRACLE I ALREADY LOVE IT
I love her dad's dog cup. He looks like he dove into the dog life with both feet!
He didn't choose the Dog life. The Dog life chose him.
At first I thought you were referring to the second to last panel, because the placing looks like the dog is his actual mug.
Happy 9/11 Eve's mom!
Also, great page, I loved that eve in the last panel.
I don't think that's the point of this holiday…
Ms. Ning wouldn't want us to forget.
It's so true. One time, she forgot… and the memory of that forgetting has NEVER left her.
eve gets more and more kawaii
Today I spent 20 minutes playing Stick with my neighbor's dog. He loves all the Stick games: Fetch, Tug-of-War, Eat the Stick… That last one's kind of a solo thing, though.
Dogs are just the best.
I like how Meredith square rooted Hannah's facial features to make the parents' faces . Is this the first time they have appeared or am I forgetting an arch?
Here ya go, a night at the Thompsons: http://www.octopuspie.com/2009-11-20/340-on-faceb…
Eve showing her belly!
*HURK *SQUEEEEE PUPPEH!!! (That is the most realistically lovable pupface I have ever seen outside of real-life sidewalk encounters)
Hilarious! I love this comic, so glad you're back from your summer hiatus!
Haha, Mr. Thompson is doing a classic Hannah pose in the panel where he's saying how Hannah is just like him.
Also, great job with the pitbull head. That's the most accurate rendering I've seen in a comic strip.
You sir, should start reading Templar, AZ:
OH MY GOD THAT PUPPY! Pit bulls are the best!
It took me a couple of read-throughs to realize Hannas dad is asking her if she packed her marmot. You can imagine how confused I was until a quick search revealed this: http://marmot.com/
Now, it makes sense.
I assumed he meant some kind of large, desert squirrel. :3
…I think I would've been happier not knowing the truth…
I was thinkin' a stuffed animal plushie….Hey Merch! See ya over at Wapsi Square!
HOLY SMOKES it's NOTDilbert!! :O
I misread it as 'marmite' and was like, "Wait, is Hanna's dad Australian?"
I thought it was odd that her dad was asking that. As others have said, I imagine it was either a pet or a stuffed toy. I guess it would have been weird if she brought along an animal like that. Not so much if she brought a stuffed toy though.
Aawww who's the center of attention? WHO'S the center of attention?? YOU are! YES you ARE!!
Is that a Pitt bull or a bull terrier?
OMG THAT LEG CHUB
I wanna hang with the elder Thompsons. They seem pleasant.
The next to last panel= Meredith's best tweet ever.
Oh, finally realized: There's Marigold and Puget Sean.
It's gonna be awkward…
One before last panel: proof that Eve is the twin sister of Kate Beaton's "Pony" http://www.harkavagrant.com/index.php?id=339
i'd like to believe all the words surrounding the ecstatic doggie in the first panel are his own thoughts.. like.. "omg omg. omg! i'm being pet! yay yay yay yayyyy"
Yes! This is what dogs think in such moments, undoubtedly.
My mother's trained the neighbor's dogs to stop barking when we tell them to. Of course that's also trained them to bark up a storm when they first see us so we'll tell them to stop and give them a treat.
That is the doggiest dog ever drawn. I love it.
So I yhaven't read Oactopus Pie in a longlong while and jumped in to this current story arc but had to (belatedly) say that I FREAKING LOVE this dog's faces.
Eve, I am waiting for the day you get a puppy of your own. I. Can. Not. Wait! Epicness!!
