HeroesCon and Summer Updates Approach!

Friends and comics fans! If you're anywhere NEAR Charlotte, NC this weekend, you must come to HeroesCon! It's June 4-6 at the Charlotte convention center. I'm going to be there along with dozens of pals on Indie Island! I'll have glassware, prints and the final, shrinking remnants of my self-published books.

What's new with the next update, you ask? I'm almost done with one project, the one that isn't a comic. And the comic one is underway. So, there'll be at least one neat thing for you in the next few weeks, if not two!

And hey, I've been in some media lately about the new book! Check out this interview I did with Gothamist. And Publisher's Weekly did a write-up about me as well.
Ordering the New Octopus Pie Book at Your Comic Shop!

Short version: During the month of April you can order Octopus Pie: There Are No Stars in Brooklyn from your local comic shop by asking them to order Diamond code APR101114! Yay!

Folks, I've been blown away by the outpouring of enthusiasm and support over the new book. I'm so glad readers are as excited as I am about this thing. Truthfully, at first I was pretty anxious about OP's jump into the big time publishing industry. This little webcomic means a lot to me, and exposing it to a general audience is something I can't say I ever expected to do. But I know going in that the readership and my peers are on my side. I expect the book's release this summer to be completely awesome.

I'm happy to say there's now another way to support not only the comic, but your local comic shop as well. Octopus Pie: There Are No Stars in Brooklyn is featured in Diamond's PREVIEWS for the month of April!

Just tell your friendly comic shop owner that you'd enjoy -- nay, LOVE -- if they placed an order for Diamond code APR101114 on your behalf. They will know the deal.

And please feel free to let me know in the comments which shop you're ordering from! I'm in the tentative stages of fleshing out a book tour, and this information would be very useful to me. Thanks guys!

---

How close to being done is the next storyline, you ask? So close you can smell it! I'm starting on the inking stage tomorrow, which means things will move speedily from here. ETA in my next post!
